Bodycote Polymer offers standardised testing/evaluation (Lifetime Testing) as well as non-standardised testing/evaluation (Lifetime Engineering) of polymer components. Examples of Lifetime Testing services that Bodycote Polymers offers are;
Hydrostatic pressure testing (ISO 1167, EN 921)
SEM-evaluations (ISO 9080)
System standrad testing of PE pipes for water and gas supply (ISO 4427, ISO 4437, EN 1555, EN 12201)
System standard testing of PEX, PP and PB pipes for water installations (ISO 15874, ISO 15875, ISO 15876)
System standard testing of PEX pipe for gas supply (ISO 15874, ISO 15875, ISO 15876)
Rapid crack propagation testing (ISO 13477)
Slow crack growth testing (ISO 13479 (notch pipe testing)
Chlorine resistance of crosslinked polyethylene, PEX (ASTM F 2023)
Chlorine resistance of polyethylene, PE (ASTM F 2263)
Bodycote Polymer has performed SEM-evaluations of more than 300 materials according to ISO/TR 9080 or ISO 9080, (classification of long-term hydrostatic strength of plastic pipes), both the testing and the computer analyses. Bodycote Polymer has also a great experience in the evaluation according to other testing metholodgies than ISO like ASTM, DIN, BS, AS/NZS and JIS.
Within non-standardised testing (Lifetime Engineering) can Bodycote Polymer assist the client in product development testing and lifetime investigation, such as;
evaluation of plastic pipes resistance to chlorinated water
influence of circulating water at various flow rates, temperatures and pressures on the lifetime of the pipes or the pipe system (fittings etc)
lifetime determination of earthquake deformed plastic pipes
